Do you often feel like you have no time to breathe, let alone practice a healthy lifestyle? Well, most of us do, so you’re definitely not alone. Luckily, you don’t need too much time and effort to stay healthy, strong and fit! Here’s a little guide for all busy bees with a few practical ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Sleep like a baby

No matter what you do, your sleep shouldn’t suffer. If you strive to be successful, productive and sharp at work, you first need to relax, unwind and get plenty of shuteye. Try to go to sleep and wake up every day at the same time to create a healthy sleep schedule and you’ll instantly feel better and more rested. Can’t fall asleep? Get a sound machine, a weighted blanket or try out a new relaxing routine before bed.

Don’t forget to work out

You might not have enough time for a 90-minute workout at the gym, but that doesn’t mean you can neglect your workouts! All you need to stay healthy and fit is 15-30 minutes of intense activity a day that will burn those extra calories, keep your muscles strong and rid you of extra energy. Your best choice is an HIIT workout style that will kick your behind in the shortest time possible! Plus, you can do them anywhere and without any equipment.

Eat Well

Being busy often means skipped breakfasts, junk food snacks and late, late dinners which can all ruin your diet and cause you to gain weight and feel sluggish. So, if you don’t have time to meal-prep, stock up on tasty snacks made with healthy organic ingredients that will always come in handy when you feel like reaching for a chocolate bar or a bag of potato chips! Another thing that can improve your diet is ditching sodas and Starbucks drinks. These are full of sugar and provide no refreshment and energy. Instead, get some organic coffee of chocolate drinks that will give you the best of taste, quality and calorie count!

Reduce sweets and carbs

No one’s saying you must give up sweets altogether, but if you’re busy and need to lose a few pounds, the easiest thing you can do is reduce consumption of sugars and processed carbs.

Stay hydrated

In order to cleanse your body from toxins, maintain a healthy digestive system and stay sharp mentally, you must stay well hydrated. The best way to provide your body with enough water is to drink…well, plain water! Even though there are plenty of sports drinks and other energizing beverages, water is still the healthiest, most effective and most affordable choice!

Take time to relax

Work, kids, spouse, cleaning, shopping and taking care of everyone often leaves you with zero time to relax, take a deep breath and pamper yourself. However, if you want to stay healthy and sane, you need some good ‘me-time’. Even if you’re super busy, you can spare some time for a relaxing soak, treat your skin to a nice scrub, take 10 minutes for meditation or just play a sitcom to catch some laughs! You will instantly relax, unwind and recharge.

Ditch booze and smokes

Many people find alcohol and cigarettes quite relaxing when they are stressed and use them as comfort during hard times. However, drinking regularly can cause lethargy and forgetfulness and smoke can cause you to feel short of breath. Those side-effects will definitely not help you feel healthy and strong, so replace your bad habits with something better like exercising or meditation.

All of these changes are very small and require minimal effort, but create huge results. You will not only look amazing, but also feel strong, invigorated and ready to tackle whatever life sends your way!
