The Art of Self-Care-How I Pamper My Grey: Guest post by Cynthia of Beige & Brunette
The art of self care has been a part of me since a very young age. My first skincare products were Max Factor that my most feminine aunt bought for me. She knows all about pampering her grey. I'll always remember how excited I was to feel grown up for having my first skincare kit. Meanwhile my mother introduced me into getting my mani/pedi at the age of 12. Ever since then I always had to have skincare and my nails done. Hence, the art of self care became a part of my life.
However, the art of self care to me means more than just having a skincare routine or getting my nails done. But, today I will cover how I 'pamper my grey' using skincare and also tea. Perhaps another time, for another post I'll share the many ways I practice the art of self care.
I'll have to admit that after becoming a mommy, the art of self care went out the window first thing after giving birth. For my second child I keep telling myself I will have a master plan.
At the moment I am doing my very best to use up all what I have left of Kiehl's products. Until I do I will finally be able to start using all the goodness and wellness @earlgreystyle has to offer. My son is now three, but still wakes up in the middle of the night. I really need more than skincare to have completely pampered my grey. But to my tired thirty-seven year old skin I like to use face masks for every purpose. The Kiehl's kit I have will take care of my pores, brighten my complexion, and replenish my skin.
While I get dishes done, or have my morning coffee I'lI be wearing one of the face masks. And I usually use a mask three times a week. Or every other day.
As for my face cleanser I've been devote of Philosophy's Purity three-in-one step cleanser. It is made with essentials oils, it removes makeup/impurities, tones, and cleanses the skin. It is gentle enough to be used twice daily. It smells wonderfully botanical. At times I'll add brown Demerara sugar to my cleanser to exfoliate my skin.
Also, a little homemade skincare routine I've been doing for a long time because it's readily available and effective is fresh squeezed lemon juice with brown Demerara sugar to also exfoliate and brighten my skin. I even do this for my hands too! It will leave my skin feeling silky soft and brand new.
And when there is peace and quiet and all is calm, I then drink tea. I feel tea is perfect for those quiet moments. There is something soothing about drinking tea. It is at times the finishing touch to my skincare routine.
